Hey Flippers,
We have some excellent news: Gameflip now accepts stablecoins! If you’ve been wondering “how?”, “what?”, “when?”, or “if I mess this up what happens?”, here’s everything you need to know.
1. What are stablecoins?
Stablecoins are cryptocurrencies linked to a stable currency, like the U.S. dollar. At Gameflip, we support USDC and USDT (on the Ethereum blockchain), so you get the benefits of crypto without the price fluctuations.
2. What is this new stablecoin option on Gameflip?
You can now add funds to your Gameflip Wallet using USDC or USDT on Ethereum.
Once in your wallet, you can:
-
Convert your USDC/USDT → USD funds
-
Or leave them as stablecoins and withdraw them later (if you don’t convert them).
3. How do I use stablecoins to pay/add funds?
Go to your Gameflip wallet on the app or site.
- Follow the instructions presented here, and you can see the step-by-step on how to add stablecoins and convert to USD.
4. What’s do you mean convert?
Once you add your stablecoins (USDC/USDT) to your Gameflip Wallet, you can turn them into USD funds. Once you convert, you’ll see your balance as USD, just like the regular wallet funds.
VERY IMPORTANT: This is a one-way process. Once converted, you cannot go back to stablecoins.
5. Can I just keep USDC/USDT in my wallet and not convert?
Yep! If you don’t want to convert, your USDC/USDT stay as stablecoins. Later you can also withdraw them to your crypto wallet if you still have them as USDC/USDT.
6. Are there any limitations?
The only limitation is that conversion from stablecoins → USD is not reversible. Once you convert, you cannot convert those USD funds back to stablecoins. Also, you cannot add funds to your wallet using another payment option and try to convert them to USDC/USDT.
7. What are the supported blockchains / networks?
Currently, only Ethereum is supported for USDC and USDT.
8. Why use this new payment method?
Here are some good reasons:
-
If you already hold USDC/USDT, this skips having to convert or move into “regular” fiat first.
-
Crypto users can use stablecoins without exposure to volatility.
-
Faster cross-border payments in many cases vs. some traditional payment rails.
9. Tips & things to watch out for!
-
Gas fees on Ethereum: Trading USDC/USDT on Ethereum means paying gas. Make sure you have enough ETH for the transaction.
-
Double-check wallet addresses: If you send funds to the wrong address, unfortunately, we cannot recover them for you.
-
Small test amounts are good: If you’re unsure, try sending a small amount first to confirm everything works.
10. What if I run into trouble?
If anything strange happens like the transaction is not showing up or if you’re feeling confused:
-
Check your transaction on Etherscan (with the tx hash) to see status.
-
Contact Gameflip Support with:
-
The crypto wallet address you sent from
-
The transaction hash / ID
-
Whether you converted to USD or kept as stablecoin
