Removal of Support for PayPal

No im froum morocco

this is a really disappointing decision.
For US customers paypal could outsource all of their AML/KYC compliance to the banks, which is fine, my bank SHOULD have that. Payoneer and Skrill do AML/KYC verification as a condition of having an account. That’s ■■■■■■■ bullshit. They’re payment processors, there is absolutely no valid reason for them to have that information. I don’t put my social in every time I buy cigarettes on credit at the deli.

Suggest you guys re-think this. Really dreadful decision and I’ll be looking for greener pastures.

@backpack0613 They’re required by law to do the kyc/aml thing.

Accounts where you can’t maintain a spendable balance (like PayPal accounts without PayPal cash) that are linked to bank accounts do not require verification to comply with AML/KYC laws. If a transfer is initiated directly from a KYC/AML account and is withdrawn directly to a KYC/AML account and is a non-transferable balance in between they’re still compliant. Skrill and Payoneer do not offer the option to operate like this because they want to be a substitute for your bank account. PayPal cash will do that, but if you do not have a cash account you can still use them strictly as a payment processor.

If they were payment processors - which is what most people use them for - Skrill and Payoneer wouldn’t need to. But they also want to be a bank where you can store a transferrable balance. That’s the problem.

They’ve decided to operate a business model that uses KYC/AML laws as a sword and not a shield. There’s no legitimate reason for them to actually NEED to comply with KYC/AML for what people use them for: payment processing. They just added “features” that require KYC/AML so they could get all your personal info and turn around and blame the law. It’s a racket. And they’re gonna get hacked and lose all that data and say they weren’t responsible for hackers who emptied all the funds in your account which by the way is not federally insured.

Unfortunately ,this is a moment when we go separate ways. To bad ,because i think Gameflip is great site ,but PayPal payment is the only possible solution for me. Maybe in the future paypal come back ?

After recent changes i sell less here, gameflip added more fees for btc, remove paypal. I feel like only bad changes, but i dont use anymore gameflip as my mainly website where i sell and i’m working on my own business right now so i dont worry anymore.

I gonna still use gameflip but mostly for buying - not selling anymore.

Come the 25th I think GameFlip is going to realize how important Paypal really was. The fee add on couldn’t have come at a worse time either.

To be fair lots of other skin sites are having issues with PayPal as well right now. Seems like they should reconsider bitcoin fees to keep the competitive though. It looks like they mostly want to limit people from cashing out small amounts over and over.

It’ll be impossible for me to add fund as the site decline all of my cards 8/10 times. I even got hold of the bank associate on the phone with when making the payment but there was nothing can be done

I work online and get paid in Paypal. Any other sites accept Paypal and have at least 15% discount on Amazon gift card? So I don’t have loss money on multiple conversion and currency.

im happy i did see this so now i know that on 25 this month im closing shop bc i only have paypal and with out it i got no other way will be looking for new site to sell stuff in it, best of luck to all as gameflip is going backwords in the past few months

Those who are against the removal of PayPal say Yey’

This is such a terrible decision

And pay for everything pay to withdraw your own money to your bank account. I know paypal is not great sometimes but at least withdraw is free and fast with a few hours its in your bank account.

This is likely the nail in the coffin for the US market on Gameflip. My sales have died in the past 3 months due to Gameflip hiding my listings behind everyone elses, and with no paypal cashout I have precisely 0 incentive to continue selling on this platform. Good luck to all but I’m afraid this is the end.

@op_JOkEr I think this is a terrible idea aswell, why not just keep PayPal as an option, and if PayPal ever goes down again we have the other options to use

PayPal is more helpful like x10 times for people out side the usa as non of the other options work for us
