looking for another PS3 controller. Are 3rd party controllers ok?
Some are actually better than the originals but typically cost more too. It all depends on your level of gaming. Personally, I rarely use 3rd party controllers but they’re not all bad. You get what you pay for and a cheap controller will usually give you more headaches than good times if you’re using it for intermediate, to pro level gaming. Especially with FPS’s and other games that require a highly responsive controller to even remain competitive.
Any recommendations?
Depends on what you’re doing with it. Are you looking for a cheap controller solution or a controller with mods and other cool stuff?
Basically I just need another controller to play with my siblings but I don’t want to spend a lot of money
If cost is the most important factor you’ll likely be fine with a generic controller. I typically prefer the Sony ones because they’re traditionally a bit more responsive and higher quality than generic controllers. The difference will be the most noticeable in first person shooters, driving, and other games that require more precise analog control. If you’re okay with a wired controller, you can always save money by going wired instead of wireless.
Worst case, if you get one and realize you prefer an OEM to an aftermarket; just sell the generic one back on Gameflip and get an OEM controller.
