You can change your online/offline status. It’s easier and better by the way!
It’s really not imo,and alot of verified sellers agree,we liked being able to tell our customers when we were going to be away,how long we were going to be away,and so on

Yeah on a forum that alot of people don’t even use,should have announced in app or send everyone a message on gameflip to inform everybody 1st

Hmm I have to agree with FortKing…I stopped using my name for Online and Offline when the app feature came out, but it was still very useful for vacations, etc. For example just 10 days ago I was on a 5 day trip and changed my name to say that, and then when I get buyers they understand when I’m later than usual or wait till I’m back.

I’m okay with giving that up to stop scammers, but how do scammers use name changes for bad intentions? Are we talking about the ones that pretend to be gameflip support?
That and maybe impersonating a reputable seller. Or changing their name to hide themselves hunting for them after scamming someone. These are my guesses.
Thats what the rating system is for,there stated clearly,and it’s literally the 1st thing you see on everyones page, so I don’t see how it stops scammers at all,this changes nothing except now ,us verified sellers can no longer give our customers accurate time tables of when we will be available.Gameflip support should be handling the scammers,if there reported they should easily be able to be detected simply from whatever purchase ,sale or comment they make,I don’t see how the name affects anything in the area of scamming
Not everyone will be aware of such a thing. New buyers will not be familiar with all that type of stuff, making them vulnerable. Besides, they may have information that leads them to make this change that is not available to us. In my opinion, if this is what helps prevent scammers, then so be it and we have to adapt. Having an Online tag with a green dot on their profile clearly does tell buyers that you are online since you manually enabled that on the mobile app. I can go ahead and put Online on my profile and pretend to be online all day long to attract customers and have to wait for me to respond to get their product. Some sellers might put Online tag in their name and not change it to offline simply because they forgot to. The feature Gameflip put in has time intervals so you will be marked offline when the status expires. They have tested this for quite some time now so I don’t think it’s much of a problem. Gameflip’s method of showing you are online is more reliable than manually putting “Online” in your name. It literally does the same thing as telling customers when you are going to be online/offline with a green dot on the listing and on the profile.
Also, you will be able to be filter listings where the sellers put themselves as online so it helps buyers out too.

You can change your profile description and write whatever you want, such as away for vacation. I always read the seller’s profile to see what’s going on.
