When to Expect PayPal Verification Code

Hello,

I have recently purchased two gift cards and received the email stating to check my PayPal email to get the steps to verify. I have checked my PayPal email, but I have only received two emails from PayPal stating that the payment will not go through until ijji, Inc. approves. There is not four character code in those emails or instructions. Does it normally take a while to receive the verification email?

Edit: I have read other similar posts and they all say shortly after the transaction, but it has been a couple of hours.
