Doubling the commission while leaving only expensive payout options feels unfair to EU sellers

Hi Gameflip team and fellow sellers,

I’ve been selling on Gameflip for a long time and I really like the platform, but I wanted to bring up an issue that is affecting many European sellers (and probably sellers in other non-USD regions too).

A while ago, Gameflip removed the Wise payout option, which was by far the best choice for us in Europe: very low fees, excellent exchange rate from usd to euros. Since then, we’ ve been forced to use either Skrill or Payoneer available. Unfortunately both come with:

  • High withdrawal fees

  • Unfavorable currency conversion rates (sometimes 3–5 % worse than the real mid-market rate)

  • Sometimes additional receiving-bank fees on our side

These combined fees can eat up a shocking percentage of the earnings before the money even reaches our bank accounts.

On TOP OF THAT, Gameflip has now doubled the seller commission compared to what it was before. I completely understand that running a marketplace has costs and that fees can change, but doing this while simultaneously leaving us with only expensive payout methods feels extremely unfair to sellers who put in real time and effort.

I completely understand that Gameflip needs to cover its costs and that raising the seller commission can be necessary. I don’t have a problem with the commission increase itself — but when the only remaining payout methods are this expensive for non-US sellers, the combined effect is that selling from Europe has become barely profitable (or even a loss) on smaller items.

The team mentioned last year that a better payout solution was being worked on, but we haven’t heard any updates since then. In the meantime the commission went up, which makes the lack of a low-fee payout option even more noticeable.

So my question to the Gameflip staff is:

  • Is there any ETA or news about bringing back a low-cost payout method suitable for European sellers (Wise again, SEPA transfers, or any other option with reasonable fees and fair exchange rates)?

  • Are you aware of how big the impact of the current Skrill/Payoneer fees + conversion is for sellers outside the US?

Many of us in Europe would happily keep selling if we could actually keep a reasonable part of what we earn. Right now a lot of us are thinking about moving to other marketplaces just because of the payout situation, which is not sustainable and not worth it on a loss.

At the moment, we don’t have any new payout methods or changes to announce. However, I’ve forwarded your feedback to the team responsible for payments and seller tools so they can evaluate options moving forward.

We know how important lower-fee payout solutions are, especially now that seller commissions have changed, and we truly appreciate you sharing how this impacts your business.

Whenever we have updates regarding payout options or fee structures, we will share them with the community.

Perhaps sign up with a licensed crypto exchange (e.g. Kraken or Binance) and withdraw via USDC? From Kraken, you can withdraw to your bank. There’s probably some fees associated with Kraken => Bank but likely lower than through Skrill?

Thanks for the feedback @Prettyvibes, @majortom forwarded that to our internal team. I want to add that this year we added withdrawals via Stablecoin (USDC), and I believe, at least for now, that should be a good option for non-US sellers as it can incur very low fees.
Now, as we enter 2026, we will definitely continue to expand the withdrawal options to all sellers.
