Gameflip sometimes gives the users $2 credits. They probably sent you an SMS talking about it.
I think I’ve received $6 so far in total, which made it possible to buy some steam games.

Same I got around 20, every time I got 2$ I was buying 1 tf2 key and selling it on market made my steam wallet up to 18 eur which is one or maybe 2 cool games for free 
i also recieved $2 like 3 days ago, its normal, enjoy it before it expires!
