Seller here. Questions about listing visibility and reputation. Help needed!

I’m a seller on Gameflip and have been on the platform since 2020. I made my account in 2021, sold 9 listings successfully and then left the platform until early this year. Since February 2024, I have sold over 1000 listings and I love this platform. I put great effort into making quick deliveries, well-crafted listings, and providing a friendly service.

In the last month or two, I have had a couple of listings cancelled and disputed for various reasons. Some cancelled by the buyer before the payment is processed (no issue with that, it doesn’t affect me in any way AFAIK). A little over a month ago I had one buyer dispute a digital code because they had voided the items it was meant to give them, this dispute was resolved by the buyer and the transaction was completed. Around the same time, another buyer disputed the sale of an Xbox PC Game Pass code because they did not read the clearly-outlined terms and conditions associated with the code which were provided by Microsoft themselves. I took it upon myself to cancel the transaction purely because I felt bad for them as it was a mistake on their end and they had already viewed the code. These have been my only two disputes. On many other occasions, I have cancelled transactions after my 3-day delivery period has ended because of buyers who do not respond or cooperate to meet me in-game to receive their items. I’ve had many people buy listings and then never respond to my messages over the 3-day period, despite me trying to reach out around every 12 hours to check for potential availability.

Just today, I had another transaction pass its 3-day delivery window despite many attempts at making contact and meeting in-game. The buyer responded on the first day, did not accept my friend request until the second day (required in order to meet), and then never responded again until after the delivery window had ended before ultimately cancelling the transaction. The notifications I get for when this 3-day window is over imply that it is my fault, and mention that it may affect me or result in the suspension of my account.

I feel that these negative transactions have weighed down my listing visibility in searches. I feel that I recall being much higher in search results just two months ago. I have zero Poor ratings, 725 Good ratings, and only 3 Neutral ratings from one single buyer long ago who seemed to be okay with waiting an hour as I got home. My status wasn’t even online at the time of their purchase. I plan on trying to appeal the ratings as I don’t believe they are justified.

I love this platform and always have, I find it fun to sell things on here and sometimes it isn’t even about the money, I end up just doing it for the love of the game. My concerns with listing visibility is just what bugs me. I have never been at fault for any transaction I have cancelled. In every instance, it is either because of unresponsive buyers, buyer misunderstanding, or some other special scenario.

I’d like to know if the factors weighing me down are permanent to my profile? Can they be removed/adjusted/remedied by staff? Dealt with differently in the future? Etc.

I’d also like to know if going through ID Verification directly leads to a boost in visibility. What are the factors that lead to more visibility and higher ranking in search results? I am now seeing myself at the bottom of some searches and it is quite disappointing.

Not speaking officially here, but I haven’t seen any indication that listing visibility is affected by the factors you outlined. As a buyer, I typically search (what I am looking for) and sort by seller rating, so since you have good ratings, your listings should show up for the buyers like me looking for what you’re selling.

You will not be affected by this, no need to worry.

This will not affect the buyer search in any way if you have positive ratings in the marketplace. Since buyers usually verify seller rating during a search.

Also, regarding the notification received, I will verify with the team if any changes can be made to avoid misinterpretation in these cases.
