Seller using generic Bot with hacks to manipulate search results

Hey

This Seller

Is using a Generic listing bot which injects item types into the post that the gameflip app doesn’t give other users access too. The bot website itself says this is to make sure your listings always appear first and search results on the fallout 76 ps4 in game items are all in his favour in the actual hundreds of listings in some cases

(search for “Junk” and see what I mean as a small example)

They have done this with practically every item sold on the fallout 76 ps4 platform to the detriment of all other sellers listing “genuinely”

I have no problem with the autopost feature as annoying as it is but this manipulation of search results surely falls under bad market practice in your terms of service?

In the interest of every other seller under the fallout 76 ps4 banner can you please take this seriously as its ruining many good legitimate stores

Kind Regards
Steve

What “hacks”? This is GameFlip policy.
I have never seen my listing in the top of the search, despite my rating and the price of the item.
In the top there can be a seller with 30 sales and 2 negative reviews, selling more expensively. I am not saying that there will be 10-15 duplicates on the search page.

This bot adds item types to the listing not available through normal posting and has code that keeps that listing top of any search result the app creator even states this. So its a hack

Do you sell on the fallout 76 ps4 section? Because no matter what you search for you have to scroll through hundreds sometimes of this sellers listings to physically see anyone else’s. Hardly fair practice

I sell on roblox, I have the same situation. I have NEVER seen my posts first in the search.
There are ten sellers in front of me with prices higher than me and ratings lower than me.
I already asked the admins about this and just wasted time, they didnt answer me.
Let’s see what they say about this soft, it’s clearly not a standard “bumper”.

If you are seeing an item type in their post that says “Quantity 1X” and type " whatever their search terms for the item is"

Then the likelihood is they are using this bot. The addition of these “Types” alone contradict what we have access to when creating a listing so its altering listings from a third party source which really isn’t fair play.

An admin has seen my original post as it was edited by him so…

You are 100% right. The categories selected are those that cannot be selected manually.

Soft

But here’s the second example, there are no signs of software, but the entire search is occupied by 1 seller. Although, perhaps, I just dont know something yet…

I’ve been on gameflip almost 5 years and relevant search results always showed a mix of new recent listings for everyone, that is until the introduction of API then this stuff started happening. I’m not much worried about myself if I make a few dollars here and there I’m good, but friends of mine that had really good sales and were relying on those to make a living have just had sales drop off the face of the planet, that annoys me more than anything if I’m being honest.

Let’s hope there is a resolution to it or its only going to get worse

Hello and thanks everyone for your input.

We understand concerns around fairness in search visibility and the use of automated tools. This is something our team is actively reviewing to ensure listings comply with our platform policies.

We do not allow the use of tools or methods that manipulate search visibility in ways not intended by the platform. If any listings are found to be violating these terms, appropriate action will be taken.

In the meantime, please avoid singling out individual sellers by name, as this can lead to harassment or incorrect assumptions. If you suspect abuse, the best way to help is to report it directly through the appropriate channels or send us a message privately.

Let’s keep this discussion constructive and in line with our community guidelines. Thanks for understanding.

That’s absolutely fair enough my friend as long as you are tackling this major problem thats ok and hopefully we see a resolve in this soon.

Thanks
