We continue to strive for transparency and improvements on the user experience within Gameflip, so this time we are rolling out a new way to display seller ratings on Gameflip.com, iOS and Android app.
Moving forward the seller ratings will be represented by a percentage, like this:
How is the seller rating percentage calculated?
The seller rating is calculated as Positive Ratings / (Positive + Negative Ratings) from transactions that took place in the last 180 days. If there are too few feedback ratings, a rating percentage is not displayed.
How this makes the marketplace better?
By displaying a percentage to gauge sellers’ reliability, we expect buyers to identify good sellers with more ease when compared to our old approach of just showing the total number of positive ratings.
Also, the time frame of last 180 days makes the competition more fair for sellers to get featured by our algorithm.
On top of the percentages, a rating summary will be displayed on every user’s profile to enrich the amount of information buyers can get from sellers:
